Learning to play the game of poker may be the easiest task, but mastering the concept behind it is what separates a champion player from the rest. Let us take a look at some of the top female poker players of the year.

Vanessa Selbst

Vanessa has been playing the game of poker since a long period of time, and it was only in 2007 that she started hitting the headlines. That summer, she finished 8th in the WSOP ladies event, and followed it up by grabbing the 3rd position in the World championship Heads up No Limit Hold’em event at the WSOP. She never looked back after that, and has evolved into one of the top female poker stars, all the way up to 17th on the all-time money list for women. She completed her undergraduate degree from Yale University, and poker is her favorite pastime!

In her first ever tournament, she ended up on the 13th place in the World Series of Poker at the Las Vegas. In a course of decade, she established herself as one of the top players in the world. Currently she serves as a consultant for the website, given her vast poker skills and knowledge.

Annette Obrestad

In 2008, she grabbed the 1st position in the Stars Sunday Hundred Grand, with a field of 20,000 players but a buy-in of only $11. She also claims to have played an entire tournament without taking a look at her cards, except in one case where she faced an all-in bet.  Her total live earnings as of today amounts to almost $4 million.
